Award is the visible milestone. Everything below is what actually keeps the contract worth holding, and none of it happens on its own.
1 · Report your sales
GSA requires Schedule holders to report sales made under the contract on a regular schedule, commonly quarterly, through its own online reporting system. This is not bookkeeping GSA might get around to checking eventually. Miss enough reports and you put the contract itself at risk, not just a late fee.
2 · Pay the Industrial Funding Fee
A small percentage of every Schedule sale goes back to GSA as the Industrial Funding Fee, which funds the program itself rather than any single contracting office. It belongs in your pricing from the start, not an amount you absorb out of margin after the fact, and it gets remitted alongside your sales reports.
3 · Know your price reduction obligations
Historically, Schedule contracts have tied your government price to a specific commercial customer or class of customer, your basis of award, and required you to tell GSA when that customer got a better deal so your Schedule price could move too. GSA has been shifting many SINs to Transactional Data Reporting instead, which trades that tracking relationship for simply reporting what you actually sold and at what price. Which rule applies to your contract depends on your SIN and when you were awarded, so check your contract's actual clauses rather than assume either version applies to you.
4 · Keep the minimum sales figure in mind
Every Schedule contract carries a minimum sales requirement, measured over your first couple of years and then annually after that. It is a low bar, meant to clear out contracts nobody is using rather than to challenge an active holder, but falling short of it repeatedly is grounds for GSA to cancel the contract. Check your own award document for the figure that applies to you.
5 · Keep your catalog and pricing current
Your awarded prices and product or labor category list live in GSA Advantage and eLibrary, and both need updating as your business changes, new items, new prices, discontinued lines. A stale listing does not just look neglected. Buyers searching eBuy see what is actually loaded, not what you meant to update.
6 · Check eBuy daily
This is the part that actually pays. Most Schedule work arrives as a request for quote on eBuy, visible only to holders in the matching SIN, often with a short window to respond. Nobody outside your own login can see these requests, and nothing watches them for you. Treat checking eBuy like a standing part of the job, not a task you get to eventually, because the holders who answer consistently are the ones who keep winning orders, and the ones who check in occasionally quietly stop.
