What Quarry actually does (and what it doesn't)

In one line

Two short lists, what we automate every night and what we never touch, so none of this is a surprise later.

Quarry does a specific, narrow job, and it is worth stating exactly where that job stops. Both lists below are complete. Neither one is trimmed for effect.

What Quarry does

  • Reads every open federal notice posted to SAM.gov, every night, the same public board you would otherwise check by hand.
  • Translates the open ones into plain English, so you are reading what the notice actually asks for, not parsing it clause by clause.
  • Matches each notice against the NAICS codes and certifications on your profile.
  • Renders a fit verdict on every match, with the reason stated in a sentence you can check yourself.
  • Flags deadlines, so a short response window doesn't slip past unnoticed.
  • Emails you when something new matches, instead of asking you to keep checking.
  • Holds your saved searches, so a search you set up once keeps running every night after.
  • Runs a free Explorer tier, capped at three saves, so you can see the feed before deciding anything.

What Quarry does not do

  • It does not have private opportunities. Every notice we show you is sitting on a public federal site right now, free, for anyone who looks. We watch it for you; we do not have more of it than you do.
  • It does not write your proposal. The verdict tells you a notice fits; turning that into a submitted response is still your work.
  • It does not know your contracting officer or carry the relationships that come from being incumbent somewhere. We render judgment on paper, not introductions.
  • It does not flag recompetes yet. If you are hunting work 12 to 18 months out on contracts you know are ending, that is manual work today; see hunting recompetes.
  • It does not track specific contract vehicles. Watching seats and task orders under an IDIQ you hold stays on you.
  • It does not compute your size status. We can point you to the standard for your NAICS code; deciding, and certifying, that you qualify is between you and SAM.gov. See size standards.
  • It does not cover state or local buyers. Federal notices only, today.
  • It does not file anything on your behalf. Registrations, certification applications, and proposals all go through you, start to finish.

Who should skip us

Skip Quarry if most of your revenue comes from a state department of transportation, a city, or a school district; we don't watch that layer yet, and a federal feed won't help you. Skip us if what you need this quarter is a written proposal or an introduction to a program office; that's a consultant's job, and we say so plainly in Quarry vs the alternatives. And skip us if you already track your vehicles and recompetes by hand and the system works; we don't replace it yet.

The short version

This is the full feature list, not a sample of it. Quarry reads, translates, matches, and flags deadlines; it does not write proposals, track vehicles, compute your size status, or reach past federal notices. Everything in the second column stays yours, and the how-to pages here cover it either way.
